Dorothy Carr

Dorothy Dell Carr, age 88 of Danville, died Thursday, July 7, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock.

She was born March 31, 1923 in Ola, AR to the late Roy and Ellen Holloman Alexander.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Carr; parents; son, Billy Ray and a half-sister, Eura Foster.

Survivors include daughters, Patricia Summit of Russellville, Dorothy Walker of Dover, Mary Blood of Danville, Jerrie Carr of Plainview; son, Charles Ray Carr of Long Pine.

Graveside service was held Monday, July 11, 2011 at Sandlin Cemetery in Ola.

Pallbearers included Randy Holbrook, Jayson Bailey, David Rolen, Eddie Harper, Bobby Walker and Andy Tanner.

Earlene Carr

Earlene Stubbs Carr, 67, of Dardanelle passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the River Valley Medical Center in Dardanelle.

She was born March 23, 1945, in Atkins, the daughter of Earl and Lois Capes Stubbs. She loved to cook for family and friends and was always looking forward to the holidays. She was an outstanding seamstress and sewed from a pattern out of newspapers. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to all who met her. She was loved unconditionally by all and will be greatly missed. She was of the Assembly of God faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; special aunt, Carolyn Sue Capes; and grandparents, Monroe and Amanda Lou Capes and Carl and Dora Stubbs.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Carr; son, Jeff and wife Cindy Pratt of Delaware; daughter, Connie Pratt and Joe W. Heflin of Dardanelle; brother, Don and wife Pam Stubbs of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Whitney Heflin Wilkins and husband Mike Wilkins, Cody Wayne Heflin and girlfriend Baylie Rickey, and Joann and husband Jesse Noblett; and special friends, Helen Bewley, Cynthia Woods and many others.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Lemley Chapel with the Revs. David Bishop and David Carpenter officiating. Burial is in Atkins City Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers are Cody Heflin, Mike Wilkins, Dale Luningham, Ray Carr, Jerry Carr and Tom Bridges. Honorary pallbearers are Yell County Hospice, Dr. Allan Kirkland, and the nursing staff of River Valley Medical Center.

Henry Carr

Man Found Dead In Hotel Room - Henry Carr, 51, of Sheridan was found dead in his room at the Danville Hotel early Wednesday morning. He had apparently died of a heart attack early in the night. Carr was a neavy equipment operator for the Reynolds and Williams Construction Co., which is working on the Highway 80 west of Danville.

C. S. Batson, foreman for the company, said that Carr was missed at breakfast and he and two other men returned to the hotel to awaken him before going out to the job. Carr was found dead in his bed and Batson called Sheriff Herman McCormick. A coroner's jury returned a verdict of death due to natural causes. Medicine found in Carr's suitcase indicated he had a heart condition. He had transferred here Sunday from a job at Heber Springs and had worked Monday and Tuesday.

Mary Carr

Mrs. Mary Carr, 101, of Dardanelle died Wednesday, Nov. 22, at Dardanelle Nursing Center.

She was born June 8, 1894, at Hamilton, Mo., to the late James T. and Elizabeth Harpold Wright. She was a member of the Nazarene Church at Skiatook, Okla.

Survivors include three daughters, Opal Peavler of Dardanelle, Beth Loflin of Herlong, Calif., and Maryann Jamison of Herlong, Calif.; a brother, Wallace H. Wright of Vancouver, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great- grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Graveside service was at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Pawhuska Cemetery at Pawhuska, Okla., by Hugh Jamison. Grandsons and great-grandsons were pallbearers.

Wanda Carr

Wanda Louise Carr, age 81 of Danville, died Saturday, January 1, 2011 at the Dardanelle Nursing and Rehab.

She was born September 12, 1929 in the Ranger Community to the late Oliver Perry and Imogene Williams Carr. She was a member of the Danville Church of Christ in Danville, AR and a retired Nursing Assistant.

She is preceded in death by a son, Glen D. Sullivan, Jr.; four brothers, Andy, Ray, James and John Carr and sisters, Allyene Wilkins, Josephine Tharp, Sarah B. Krehbiel, Amanda Meyers and Orlene Boydston.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn Carter of Grand Prairie, TX, Debbie Jo Boyce of Andover, KS; a brother, Charles "Chock" Carr of Danville, six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Tuesday at Earl Ladd Cemetery with Brother Stan Chism officiating.

Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.

Mrs. Frances B. Carrington, 70, of Jacksonville, sister of Doris McClure of Rover, died Saturday, June 13.

Survivors also include her husband, Elmer Carrington: a son, a daughter, four other sisters and five grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, June 16 at Jacksonville Funeral Home. Burial was in Bayou Meto Cemetery.

Mary Sue Daniel Carrington


Mary Sue Daniel Carrington, 92, a Longtime Resident of White Hall, Arkansas, passed away on April 19, 2014, after a lengthy illness, at Home with her Family in Rowlett, Texas.

She was Born January 01, 1922, in Bluffton, Arkansas (Yell County) to the late Ben E. and Ada Aikman Daniel.

Sue was a Member of First Baptist Church of White Hall and a 50 year Member of Union #40 of the Order of Eastern Star.

Sue was Employed by Safeway Stores at the age of 21 and worked for them for 25 years before Retiring.
After Retiring from Safeway, she worked for White Hall Reality and then Century 21 for 22 years Retiring in 1995.

She also worked part time for her late husband Curt at Curt's Auto Parts of White Hall assisting with the Bookkeeping.

Sue was always on the go; you would most likely find her Raking Leaves and Tending her Yard.
If she wasn't doing that she was Baking Pies and Cakes for her Neighbors and Friends who couldn't get out or had done her a good deed.
She also helped care for many of her Family and Friends who were ill or in the Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 52 years, Curtis "Curt" Arthur Carrington; five Brothers, Ben, Tom, Edgar, Luther and Glenn Daniel; and five Sisters, Bernice Chambers, Zeraldine Gladden, Martha Milligan, Murline Jenkins, and Ada Ruth Curry.

Survivors include one Son, Alan Carrington and Trudy of Rowlett, TX; one Daughter, Thomasena Williams and Tommy of Warren; a sister Juanita Carter of Benton; a Brother, Billy Pat Daniel and Gloria of Dumas; four Grandchildren, Scott Williams and Lisa; Jeannie Rook and Tim; all of Warren; Amanda Curtis and Clifford of Tinsman; Justin Carrington of Rowlett, TX; a Nephew, Dale Milligan whom she and her late Husband raised; six Great Grandchildren; one Great Great Grandchild; and a Host of Nieces, Nephews and Friends.

Funeral Services by Ralph Robinson & Son will be Thursday, April 24 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of White Hall with Reverend Denny Daniel and his Brother, Chet Daniel Officiating, assisted by Pastor Paul Williams.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday Evening from 6-8 P.M. at Robinson's.

Pallbearers will be her Nephews, Rick Jenkins, Randy Jenkins, Dan Gladden, Wayne Carter, Brad Curry, Michael Daniel, and Bobby Jo Daniel.

The Family Requests that in lieu of Flowers, Memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of White Hall.

Archie Carroll

Archie Carroll of Russellville died Wednesday, March 21, at St Vincent Infirmary in Little Rock.

He was a native of Stafford (Yell County), son of the late Abb and Hananah Hackson Carroll, a retired self-employed lumberman and a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Doyle Mae Jaggers Carroll; four sons, Charles Carroll of Santa Maria, Calif., Jim and Ronnie Carroll of Dardanelle and Roger Carroll of Russellville; two daughters, Kay George of Dardanelle and Patsy Slandridge of Dover; two sisters, Mary Bailey of Nebraska and Mildred Barnett of Dardanelle; a sister-in-law, Vernel Taylor of Ola, 16 grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, at Harkey's Valley Cemetery. Arrangements were in care of Cornwell Funeral Services.

Jane Carroll

Jane Susan Carroll passed away on March 16, 2012 in Danville, Arkansas at the age of 103 with her family at her side. She was born November 29,1908 to Clifton and Susan Melon Moore of Dardanelle. She was a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and mentor to many and had a strong Christian faith that carried her through bitter losses and great joys during her long life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Millie Carroll of Danville, two sons, Zebran Carroll of the home, and Billy Gerald Carroll of Franklin,TN; 15 brothers and sisters, Clyde Grace, Morris Moore, Cleo Grace,Truly Opal Moore, Perry Moore, Bryan Moore, Dewey Moore, Carrie Lee Cravens, Russell Moore, Lester Moore, Mary Cox, Anderson Moore, Ellen Melon Sellars, Phillip Moore, and Lorene Barnett.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Loyd Carroll of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas Opal Carroll and wife Mary of Corpus Christi, TX, and a daughter, Janelle Carroll Tatum and husband Tom of Danville, AR; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was Tuesday at Cornwell Chapel in Danville. Burial was at Ard Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home, Danville.

Lois Carroll

DARDANELLE - Lois Faye Carroll, 70, of Dardanelle slept in the lap of the Lord on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, where she passed at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville.

She was born Feb. 27, 1943, at Dover. Lois was a loving mother, sister, wife and friend. She lived to help others, always there to lend a helping hand and expected nothing in return. To have known Lois was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Sonny Laymon; and three sisters, Shirley Flippo, Jewell Savage and Ellen Beavers.

She was surrounded by her loving family and her Lord Jesus Christ at the time of her departure from this world.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jimmy Carroll; her son, Marty Carroll of Dardanelle; daughter, Rhonda Harden of Olathe, Kan.; granddaughter, Madison Carroll of Dardanelle; daughter-in-law, Lisa Carroll of Dardanelle; and son-in-law, Rod Harden of Olathe.

The family will conduct a small and private memorial service.
